Introduction of The Peitou Culture Foundation

Love of Beitou
From the preservation of the Hot Spring Museum, the Beitou Cultural Foundation(BCF) established the Beitou Charter, acted as the platform of community empowerment.

Community Vision
Based on the Beitou Community Charter, established the Beitou Community Development Association, joined the Alliance For Healthy Cities(AFHC) in 2007, and to become a place suitable for living, travel and learning.

Public Platform
To act as public platform for community empowerment through consensus conferences.

Monument Preservation and Environment Planning
Preserve local monuments and historical buildings, for example the reparation of the charcoal kiln by the Zhongzheng Hiking Trail.

Community Supported Agriculture
Develop safe community agricultural products, host agricultural seminars, farmers bazaar and fair trade system.

Beitou Community College
Commissioned by Department of Education,Taipei City, established life-long learning institutions. Curriculum planning based on local characteristics, enhancing interaction between people, and community participation; with the goal as "standing on Beitou, glorify Taipei, care for Taiwan, and educating world citizens". Received special recognitions from Government.

Learning Community
Sponsored publications on Beitou studies thesis projects, arranged undergraduate internship program.

Daily Care of Lone Elders
Provide free lunch, care giving, and home visits for the elderly.

Community Medical Service
Promote family doctor program with the community doctors, cooperated with hospitals to arrange general medical trainings after graduation.

Green Tourism
Organized Beitou Health Hot Springs Green Living Association to promote local brands, Healthy Green Living Festival, and theme travels: monuments and museums tour, journey of blue dye, charcoal kiln green tour, and farm lohas tour.

Beitou Gift
Beitou blue dye, spa soap, specialty cuisine.

Healthy Ageing School
Arranged diversified curriculum and accompanied senior citizens over the age of 65.

Love fundraising
Since September 2005, the BCF and the community have delivered lunchboxes to 80 low-income elders, and have served over 180,000 lunchboxes. This activity has brought warmth to the elderly lives and improved quality of life. The Foundation needs your sponsor to continue these activities of care and love.

2.Adoption of a year of meal for the elderly: NT10,000 per person annually.
